It was a sunny day.
The skies were clear.
A faint breeze blew in the cool of the mid-day.
He was already at church, preparing to minister and she was on her way to check out the new ministry.
Imhotep, was going to preach this Sunday as his pastor was out of town.
Tiffany, looking to visit the church for the first time at the recommendation of a good friend, drove the 30-minute journey from Gaithersburg to Silver Spring, Maryland.
As he stood up to minister, he surveyed the attendees and quickly saw Tiffany seated in the last seat of the last row of the church and thought to himself, “Wow, she’s beautiful.”
As she prepared to hear Imhotep speak, she began to pray for him as he ministered – and it turned out to be a very moving service that Sunday.
Immediately after service, she left to her car, and Imhotep, greeted the visitors then swiftly headed to the parking lot to introduce himself to Tiffany. She was kind and cordial as they spoke – all the while he hoped she would come back the following week!
And so a friendly 10-year game of “cat and mouse” began, and their love-story slowly blossomed to what it has become today!
is the daughter of two southern pastors from North Carolina, used to “good church”, a close-knit family, and was raised to have a selfless sense of purpose.
is the son of an American doctor and Nigerian-born nurse and have always been taught to honor the timeless values of family, community, and service.
For nearly ten years, we passionately worked together in ministry, serving others in faith and hope – I (Imhotep) as an assistant pastor, and I (Tiffany) as a lay-leader of our home church, Restoration House International.
Ironically, we both experienced the loss of close family. Ultimately, this knitted us together as we sought genuine ways to support each other through the challenge of grief.
Those events led us to embrace the love we had been quietly developing for each other throughout the last decade.
In 2020 we were joined together in holy matrimony in Springfield, Virginia! And the love we share today is a result of the process of learning to love ourselves and God.
Since that time, many have reached out to us to ask us how we were able to date and marry God’s way! It was so many in number that we prayed about launching a community to help single Christians navigating the process of finding covenant.
We prayerfully developed our model, our strategies, and
our process to assist singles on their journey to covenant.
We call it The Covenant Process!
